Let us watch our children perform face to face

As a parent, there’s nothing more heartwarming than watching our children perform during the annual Christmas Concert. It's a moment we've all eagerly awaited, a time of excitement for the students who’ve worked hard rehearsing, and a season of pride for us, the parents, who cherish these moments of seeing our children shine. However, this year, the concert is being planned to be online where parents cannot see their children face to face. This situation is incredibly disheartening, considering the anticipation and effort put into this special event.

This limits our ability to be present during the performance, and simply watching from a distance or through a screen diminishes the joy of the event. It's a moment meant to be shared in person, a memory to be made as we applaud our children from our seats, engaging directly with their enthusiasm and hard work.

I am more than willing to pay for an alternative venue if it means creating a more inclusive atmosphere where parents can be physically present, supporting their children as they perform. This festive season is about bringing families together, not separating us during such a significant occasion.

Many parents share this concern, and it’s important to find a solution that maintains the spirit of the Christmas Concert. Possible solutions include renting a local hall or community center that can accommodate parents for an intimate and memorable experience.

Let's not let this overshadow the importance of family and community connection during this holiday season.
